Biography

I am an academic radiologist from Ireland. I specialise in cardiothoracic imaging and interventional radiology.  I am a consultant radiologist in the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. I treat patients in the Royal Brompton Hospital, Cleveland Clinic London and One Welbeck London. I lead the lung tumour ablation service at RBH, and have a special interest in quantitative imaging of the lungs and heart.  I have been awarded fellowships in interventional oncology and MRI imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre and cardiothoracic imaging at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre in New York and Boston prior to becoming a consultant. My pastimes include cycling, photography and running. 

Research

I am a passionate educator and clinical researcher and was appointed as an Honorary Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London in 2018. My research interests lie in cardiopulmonary imaging and interventional radiology.  This work was acknowledged with a Laing Buisson Healthcare Outcomes award in 2022, a Radiologic Society of North America Roentgen Fellow Research Award in 2013 and a Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland medal in January 2018. My current research projects include lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, and cardiopulmonary vascular imaging. My body of work reflects my passion for investigation, learning and task completion.  I enjoy mentoring radiology and cardiology trainees and pursuing my research interests through clinical expertise and innovation.
